Stephanie Riddell, MSN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, serving patients at Innovation Medical Group, Southwest Territory, at their location in Durango, CO. Stephanie graduated from Colorado State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a minor in statistics.
Her first job was with the CDC in a research position in Fort Collins. Gaining great experience through the CDC she took a new path to Sonoma California where she did laboratory work on wine for three winemakers in the area.
Time and her now husband (who grew up in Dove Creek) brought her to Cortez, CO where her medical career began from the ground up.
She started out as a CNA in Mancos, went to nursing school at Allen College in Waterloo, IA, and then worked at Southwest Memorial Hospital on the medical-surgical floor for 7 years.
During this time Stephanie realized she could do more to improve the lives of those in her community.
In a place where healthcare is limited, she wanted to be able to help people who needed more when it comes to health.
While working she went to school to earn her Master’s in Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner and graduated with honors from Simmons University.
Her first position as a nurse practitioner was with Hope Barkhurst and she now continues to care for patients of all ages with Innovation Medical Group.
